We are the new generation of Flower Children. It’s our job to make the change, the right way.

The economic recession has humbled us and made us realize that we are not invincible. We are going through a secondwave audiovisual and extrasensory revolution of the arts and music and an appreciation of our surroundings and nature. This is teaching us the most important thing of all: to LISTEN. It helps us hear what others have to say, and perceive the opposite point of view; it helps us develop the ability to empathize and understand.

There is a special quality about certain types of music such as fusion, jazz, electronic, and world that is hard to explain when listened to in large groups of people. It is more than simply just music. It functions as a type of motivational speech, such as “I Have A Dream” by Martin Luther King, Jr. With these types of music comes a total communal transformation. Changes in perception and thinking are made in entire groups of people at a time instead of just individual minds through their connective experiences with each other: one-on-one reciprocally, and with the group as a whole… it’s a sociopsychological phenomenon.

No other genre or style of music brings people of so many different backgrounds, ethnicities, economic statuses, sexualities, languages, and most importantly, life experiences… so close together. Together, we are all able to share an experience. We’re able to relate to one another. Suddenly, the things that are normally so important within our materialistic American society, that are used to divide us, no longer matter. The fact that we make different amounts of money does not even cross our mind. Since we have a feeling of oneness in this moment, it seems as though we all originally came from the same background. And without even realizing it at first, we now all of a sudden speak the same language. We’re perfectly in sync with each other. Everything is universal. We have become enlightened into empathy.

I believe empathy for the opposing view it is a key initiation factor for our generation in political and cultural progression through proper negotiation and human compassion instead of conflict, war, and violence. If we, the Flower Children, use these tools the right way, to teach others that yes, we can love others who are different from us instead of holding hostility and anger… and yes, we can understand their situation from their shoes… we can then negotiate a collective decision that is the best for everyone as a whole. When we come to this point, there are endless possibilities for our world and the human race.

“Everything happens for a reason,” right? WRONG. This is a common proverb/quote/saying used by our generation; however is it actually very fundamentally flawed and dangerous.

It is ESSENTIAL that we live with intention, meaning, and purpose. The Holocaust did NOT happen for a reason. The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami did NOT happen for a reason. Catastrophic suffering and unexplained, unfair death does NOT happen for a REASON. So STOP trying to find an easy way out and explain it with this ludicrous saying.

In psychology, this is called COGNITIVE DISSONANCE. It is difficult for people to maintain beliefs that make them uncomfortable with their habits. There is a genuine element of unpredictability in the universe. That means that some things just happen. For no reason at all. Sometimes that’s good, sometimes that’s bad.

When we try to comfort ourselves with lines such as ”Everything happens for a reason,” it it keeps us from facing reality… and even worse, from taking responsibility for our actions as a human race. This lets horrible atrocities such as genocide go on for abominable amounts of time… and even worse, lets us repeat history.

It’s time for us to stop being lazy and start facing the truth. No more of this easy, light, pseudo-spirituality… we need to actually face some hard facts and do some real thinking in life.

2011 was an amazing year for Targa Trophy, which has resulted in our biggest season yet now under our belt. Now for 2012, Targa Trophy is expanding its profile yet again. We are ready to embark on our biggest event season yet, with an all new Experience Event Series, the Targa Trophy Triple Crown Weekend, and much more! Targa Trophy is poised for maximum output and ready to define what So Cal automotive lifestyle culture is in 2012. This year’s Experience Event series sees an evolution of the event and driving format that will allow more people to experience the Targa Trophy lifestyle.

First, we are introducing our new “Festival Marque” format, expanding from featuring one make to calling out genre-specific marques to come and showcase their amazing vehicles. For Experience Event #1 we are featuring the German Car Festival calling for the best of the best cars to come and join us on March 31st. Porsche, Mercedes AMG, BMW M, Audi S/RS, and VW/R cars are all welcome to come show and run with us as we are looking for this to be our biggest Experience Event of all time. Also, all German Car Festival entries will receive exclusive gifts courtesy of Targa Trophy and our sponsors for bringing out their cars in support for our “Festival Marque” showcase.

The second new element to the 2012 Experience Event series is the adjustment of the driving format. We are moving our hybrid TSD format to our Triple Crown Weekend Main Event this summer and moving into a check-point challenge/poker run format for the 2012 Experience Event Series. This format will not be timed and is meant to bring the fun/social interaction to new levels at our events, while encouraging our patrons to run the course at their own pace to enjoy the drive (rules of the road apply – as always), run with groups of friends and check in at sponsor-related checkpoints at each event where you will collect credits that will be your key to winning some big time prizes.

Hard Rock Hotel is the official host hotel/after party destination for this event and special rates are available for Targa Trophy participants to take advantage of. If you are a German Car owner, get your friends involved and help us make this event even bigger as we have many exciting details to come for German Car owners and even more details regarding Targa Trophy and the Targa Trophy Experience Event Series.

Written by Laura Peck

“Last week, some girl came up to my table at Fluxx. I had just gotten my 15L bottle of Veuve Magnum, and she grabs the bottle from the cocktail server, and drops the bottle. It breaks. Then, embarrassed, she walks away.” – A recent horror story from my friend Richard Vigil, “bottle-grabbing” is unfortunately becoming a common problem in clubs throughout downtown San Diego. To the common eye, it would seem fairly obvious that you would not just grab and take something that cost someone else thousands of dollars. That would, in reality, be called something along the lines of… STEALING. But unfortunately, a certain sub-culture has developed within the local nightlife scene that has left certain people with an extremely entitled sense of thinking – which makes them believe that they literally DESERVE free VIP/special treatment and essentially anything they want when they are out at no cost, with no tips, with no thank yous, and you better make it snappy, too.

These individuals simply believe they are “SPECIAL.” Different. Better than everyone else. This might be news to them, but they are in fact WRONG. True story: Being well-networked and having the ability to get into a club, multiple clubs, or ANY club in San Diego does NOT cancel out your personality trait of being a complete f*cking douchebag/bitch – people WILL notice this over time, and it WILL come back to bite you in the ass… it’s also very entertaining to watch this always seem to happen when the person least expects it and most needs it. This delusional ideology can be rooted in several different factors, which we’ll get into below…

Although many of these “mistakes” are made by people that are relatively new to the nightlife scene and are therefore somehow “uneducated/clueless” about what is common courtesy and what is not, this blog is mainly geared to the numerous ignorant people who have been going out in San Diego for several months to even worse, SEVERAL YEARS, and even so purposely choose to have little to no consideration or respect for those who actually work in the service and nightlife industry and dedicate their time and energy to take care of others. For that reason, I am now aiming to educate them with a little CLB 101: Introduction to Nightclub Etiquette. And now, ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, I bring to you: Laura Peck’s Guide to Getting Down in San Diego.

Chapter 1: Getting Into A Nightclub [This.Is.Not.Las.Vegas.]

In San Diego, there are several rules which should be taken into consideration when trying to get yourself into a nightclub.

Always put yourself in the shoes of the VIP host/whoever is the mediator of getting you and your party in. There is nothing more irritating to a host than a customer/client that cannot understand that the fact you got in last time immediately, for free – has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with RIGHT NOW. It’s actually pretty tough to be a VIP Host. There’s a lot of pressure. Essentially, they have to play favorites all night long. They have to constantly multitask and prioritize in their head which clients will provide the most profit and will provide the best image – directly or indirectly, for the club. When they have a ton of people to deal with at once on a busy night, you might be bumped down the “priority list” quite a bit whether you like it or not… as an individual, it is up to YOU to make yourself an item of value to the club, SHOW (over time) that you are someone who deserves the PRIVILEGE to be a priority, and build a mutually beneficial relationship with the VIP Host. This can be done in a number of ways: by spending money on VIP bottle service, by helping book/bringing clients to the club that will actually commit to spending money on VIP bottle service, or by bringing individuals to the club that will rake in revenue in some other way, directly or indirectly… whether they spend a lot of money at the bar and tip well, are great potential talent or employees and the club is looking to hire, are young extremely attractive females… you get the picture. This IS a business afterall – the VIP Host IS working, it’s not just your fun night out – and this Industry thrives on superficiality whether you want to face it or not…

THE 3 GOLDEN RULES: Patience, Politeness, and Gratitude. These 3 golden qualities have virtually never failed me. If you have a credible reason to get into the club, the VIP Host WILL do everything in their power to take care of you unless there is a reason beyond their control such as capacity, etc. where taking care of you is not an option. And when you wait patiently and quietly while maintaining eye contact with the Host (instead of SCREAMING their name at the top of your lungs to try to get their attention – TRUST ME, they DO see you), they will notice… they will ALSO notice that you are respecting their job and what they need to do. And then when you respectfully explain your legitimate reason (ex: you promote for the venue, you work in the Industry (which suffices in many cases), have some sort of voucher, have a table, are with someone with a table and you have been confirmed with the venue by that person, have connections with a Host there who will definitely take care of you, etc.) they will be 100 times more likely to take the time to listen. Then – this is very important – BE SURE TO TAKE THE TIME TO THANK THEM. A nightclub is a PRIVATE BUSINESS. They don’t HAVE to let in ANYONE. Literally EVERYTHING is a favor. So say thank you EVERY TIME.

THIS. IS. NOT. LAS. VEGAS. This isn’t Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, where you walk by the lobby with your 4 girls and some promoter jumps out at you on the sidewalk with 5 comp cards, promising to walk you all to the front of the line with no-cover privileges. Get real – this is San Diego. Unless it’s early or the club is completely empty and aching for people, chances are, if you don’t know anyone at the door or you’re not on the guestlist and there before the designated time, you’re going to have to pay to get into a venue. Just because you’re “cute” does not mean that you can randomly walk up to the door of Voyeur at 12:30am the night that Kaskade’s playing and expect to get in immediately, for free. You can’t expect this on any night – ESPECIALLY when you have no personal connections there. The concept of NETWORKING is literally EVERYTHING when you are out in downtown San Diego. We are a very close-knit community of less than 10 active full-size nightclubs and whether you like it or not, everybody seems to know everybody. So that’s why if you want to be able to get in for free and get in faster, you need to make the effort to network. You need to be remembered. YOU NEED TO BRING SOMETHING TO THE CLUB that will make them want to take care of YOU. It’s a 2-way street here. Nothing’s REALLY for free in this world. For me personally, I am taken care of at most places because I’m a promoter: I have promoted or am currently promoting at virtually every nightclub downtown, and whenever possible I bring an attractive, good-sized, well ratio-ed, energetic crowd with me that helps start the party or helps keep the party going. But at the same time, when I know it’s a busy night and the venue’s going to be at close to capacity, I bring just one friend with me to ease the staff’s situation.

Chapter 2: Mooching is NOT a good thing.

[Did you know?] that since a nightclub is a PRIVATE BUSINESS, legally they have the ability to charge for literally ANYTHING they want? This includes tap water (which is becoming increasingly common these days, although it is unethical), and if they wanted to, even items such as straws, napkins, or needing to use the restroom..?

Bottle Rats and Bottle Buzzards. What is a Bottle Rat? A Bottle Rat is a young, (most of the time, but not always) attractive female who has developed a sense of entitlement – they believe they deserve everything in a club for free… free drinks, free cover, free transportation to and from the venue, etc. They tend to flock in small packs and can be found strutting in the VIP bottle service sections of men who they do not even know, attempting to flirt with them for free drinks. The Bottle Rat has zero intention of paying for anything… and will go to unimaginable extremes to avoid spending any money. Essentially, the Bottle Rat expects others to pay for their fun, in many cases (older, wealthier) men they do not even know at all or have just met that night. It has been confirmed through lab rat testing that when given the choice, the result will be alcohol and other illicit substances vs. dignity and self-respect 100% of the time.

The male bottle rat? I prefer the terminology “Bottle Buzzard” because A) Buzzards/vultures are also scavenger animals, just a larger version of rats basically; and B) Like a buzzard, the Bottle Buzzard at least most of the time KNOWS he is not truly welcome at the table, so instead of actually sitting down in it, he instead “hovers/circles” over/outside of the area, takes drinks to fuel his night, and oftentimes leaves after that.

Bottle Buzzards also tend to “adopt” their friends’ “finished” tables a lot of the time, pretending that the table was originally theirs… as in they were the “ballers” who purchased it.

The worst type of Bottle Buzzard is the one that invites all of his other Bottle Buzzard Bros into the table – filling it with mancock. Then, they all collectively drink the original supplier’s alcohol instead of leaving it to him/his friends/any girls he wants to invite into his table.

Chapter 4: Complimentary Does NOT Equal Free.

For some reason, a lot of people that go out in San Diego do not understand the concept of “complimentary” or “comped”. Complimentary items may be at no cost… but the service the person is doing for you is not free. So you need to take care of them regardless. This is where the term GRATUITY comes into play. The concept of GRATUITY, better known as TIPS, is extremely important. People in the service Industry LIVE OFF OF TIPS. Just because you got a comped drink does not make it all of a sudden MAGICALLY OKAY for you to forget about that… in my opinion, thinking like that is f*cking delusional. As a matter of fact, you need to tip much higher than usual for comped drinks. Usually the tipping standard (minimum) is 20%. The Rule of Thumb for COMPED drinks it to tip at least (minimum) 50%, or half, of the total cost of your beverages. This is because the bartender is clearly doing you a favor, and they are also using part of their comped tab on you. If you were given a drink ticket or voucher by the venue, it is okay to tip a normal amount since it is compliments of the venue, not the bartender themselves. So PLEASE, I don’t ever want to see some girl flirting with a bartender just to get some free drinks, then essentially give them a big “fuck you very much” right to the face by walking away immediately after being served, without tipping. That reallyyy gets me going, let me tell you.

Chapter 5: Hey, the DJs called… they requested that you stop requesting.

I’ll tell you right now, unless a DJ is the one who ASKS YOU what you want to hear (which has happened to me a couple times in my life – but that’s most likely because I am also very educated in the electronic music genre), you DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, request songs to a DJ. It is incredibly irritating to them, out-of-place, and (most of the time) pretty presumptuous since you’re attempting to say you know better than a professional – someone who does this for their living. Also, chances are the majority of your requests won’t flow with/will most likely be insulting to the set they are attempting to play… which they are playing for a reason.

A particular venue hires a particular DJ on a particular night for a particular purpose… there is a professional marketing approach behind everything, and way more skill, effort, and premeditation goes into their job and track selection than most common listeners would ever care to know.

So before you somehow push your way past security, edge up to DJ Decon next Friday at Sting, and ask him to play Britney Spears – “Till The World Ends,” PLEASE. STOP. Think of this blog. And refrain yourself.

Hoping this has been informative and of help… I also truly hope that it has maybe found its way into the right hands… the hands of those that actually need to change their impolite, unacceptable way of going about things downtown. The videocamera effect is pretty powerful and I’m hoping this might remind certain people of themselves a bit… who knows, it might shine some light on their situation and help them think outside the box? Let’s keep our fingers crossed, San Diego

MARCH is the month of mustaches, madness, and definitely not mediocrity… this month TK brings you MARCH MADNESS INDUSTRY MONDAYS at Guesthouse @ Stingaree. The Final Four venues over the past few months of “Battle of the Bartenders” during THE SCENE have been chosen: Taste & Thirst, RT’s LONGBOARD GRILL, Analog, and Hard Rock… and these teams will be going head-to-head in a tournament-style format to compete for bragging rights and high-value prizes. Check out our brackets for the next couple weeks, and come out and support your favorite local establishment as they compete:

On Monday, March 5th we had Taste & Thirst Vs. Longboard’s duel… Taste & Thirst triumphed overall via bar/bottle service sales and heads through the door.

And last night, the bartending staff of Analog Vs. Hard Rock went head-to-head… Analog ended up coming out on top.

So looks like we’ve got Longboard’s Vs. Hard Rock next Monday the 19th, and then the Championship “Game” will take place on the 26th between the best bartenders of Taste & Thirst and Analog. Definitely make sure you make it out to this one, guys… the stakes will be high, major competition will be in the air, and it will most definitely be a worthwhile match to watch.

Well how exactly does this whole competition work? How can YOU help out your favorite bar or club to help them win?

Make sure you let the VIP hosts/door staff know that you came in to support a given venue. Mention the bar or club’s name you came out for at the door, or turn in their designated “card” as you walk in: each venue’s guest bartenders will be giving these out before the event to friends, fellow staff members, etc. to turn into the Guesthouse the night of to help track how many people they brought.

Make sure to buy drinks from “YOUR” venue’s bartenders. Their bar sales help determine how many points they end up scoring!

Ball out and get a few bottles!!! This is the most direct way to support your favorite establishment. For all of you who work in the Nightlife and Service Industry, we have a bunch of Industry Specials for bottles available at Guesthouse on Mondays that we can hook you up with. Give Brian Post from TK a call: 760.840.9339.

Hope to see you guys out to watch it all go down the next two Mondays!!!

- Laura and all of TKProductions

Wintervention. Was. Sick. To say the least. Lots of visual stimuli. Lots of fun, amazing people. Lots of great vibes. Lots of dancing. Lots of bottle-popping. Lots of jumping on cabanas. And to top it all off, lots of fun that continued after Wintervention itself was over… we continued on to Five/Ten, F6ix Industry Night, Sunday School at Hard Rock, Thrusters and Bar West in PB, and wherever else the night took us… jeez, what a blurrrrr.
The cherry on top? We had TWO rounds of it this year.

Hard Rock Hotel San Diego heated up the first Wintervention featuring Australian electronic supermodelesque twins Liz and Mim NERVO. We rocked out warm and indoors, with plenty of lights and action to keep us entertained in the Legends Ballroom, summer-play toys replaced by foam glowsticks and an ACTUAL DANCEFLOOR instead of just an empty astroturf area. The Ballroom gave us 9,000 square feet of rageroom to truly remember what summer is all about… even though it still may be a few months away.

The sultry and edgy songwriter/singer/DJ sisters Mim and Liv Nervo are most well-known for their single “We’re All No One,” featuring Afrojack and Steve Aoki. “We’re All No One” was released as a multi-track digital single on September 6th, 2011. It features both their original mix and an edit of the song along with four remixes: the NERVO Goes To Paris Remix, Hook N Sling Remix, Dave Aude Club Mix, and Jungle Fiction Remix. The song is a marked departure in style and sound from their more underground dance floor productions of the past, and showcases a daring new vision that sets its sights on the future of more mainstream-based electro.

And they definitely proved themselves at Wintervention as well; they played an amazing, energetic, and engaging set… plus they engaged the audience alcoholically via pouring shots of Jack Daniels into people’s mouths straight out of the bottle. HAHA!

Even better: Wintervention ROUND II, when Chuckie came to play. Having risen to fame with chart successes such as “Let The Bass Kick” and “Aftershock” from way back in 2007 and 2008, Chuckie’s career has continued to develop, thus turning him into a global phenomenon who never fails to win over legions of fans with his upfront and high-energy approach to making and playing music. His explosive beats, surprise FXs, and adulated climaxes keep the listener moving and craving more.

This was the fourth time Chuckie has played in San Diego, and I have been fortunate enough to see him myself all four times. He has given a killer performance all three times he has come to Wintervention/Intervention… his set this last time was nothing short of amazing. Plus, this time around the Hard Rock staff amped up the L.E.D. experience and lightshow inside the Legends Ballroom, which of course made the experience even better.

Everyone headed to Five/Ten afterward and we all partied our little hearts out over there… the survivors headed to the Auctions at Sevilla Nightclub and then back to Hard Rock for Sunday School at 207. To say it was a LONG AND INTENSE Sunday Funday is no understatement.

Now imagine this type of experience… but in the amazing San Diego sun. This summer. Bikinis and bods and pools included. Wintervention might be over, but INTERVENTION is just around the corner… and it will literally, blow you out of the poolwater. GET READY to get TKray… summer style.

Coming this April to Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. Cause maybe partying will help?

Written by Laura Peck

What includes neon LED lighting, blow-up zoo animals, leopard print balloons, glow-in-the-dark wristbands and glasses, a crowd doused in neon and ready to rage, and DJ DAINJAZONE of the PARTY ROCK Crew spinning beats throughout the evening to keep them amped up? What about a live performance by a VERY special guest that is DEFINITELY NOT to be underestimated when it comes to size… because he’s SEXY, AND he knows it?

The answer is clear: TKProductions’ “If It Isn’t Neon… It Shouldn’t Be On” Party at Ivy Nightclub in approximately T-Minus 48 hours.

I’ve already stocked up plenty on neon accessories and supplies in anticipation for this event… it’s gonna be a good one. To give you an idea of the kind of “props” I’m referring to per se, below is a diagram for your personal convenience:

Even better, to top you off (in multiple ways) we’re gonna be offering you our TK Thursday Night Drink Special: $8 Grey Goose, Bacardi, and Cazadores until Midnight… so you can save bucks while you GET BUCK. Who wants tiny $12 wells drinks packed with ice at other venues when you can get premium top shelf liquors at discount prices here? Let’s use some common sense people.

Remember kids… the dress code will be slightly more relaxed this week due to the Neon theme, but please respect the fact that Ivy Nightclub, Winebar, and Rooftop is an upscale venue. Don’t have anything neon for this party and not sure if you’ll be able to stock up in time? Come in white; it glows in the dark under the LED and black lighting in a similar nature.

EUPHORIA [Ancient Greek]: a mental and emotional condition in which a person experiences intense feelings of well-being, elation, happiness, ecstasy, excitement and joy.

How well will YOU be enjoying yourself at midnight this NYE? Well, Ivy Nightclub at Andaz Hotel San Diego, TK Productions, and Targa Trophy have announced our resolution for 2012: to ensure that our guests enter the New Year in an absolutely PERFECT state of EUPHORIA.

So adamant are we on this goal that we have dubbed EUPHORIA the name of the party itself – guaranteed to be filled with fantasy and live entertainment in four alluring environments: the Ivy Rooftop, the Ivy Winebar, the Ivy Nightclub, and the Ivy Grand Ballroom. TK Productions will be working together with the staff of Andaz San Diego and Ivy Nightclub to help put together the very best elements of entertainment to create an event that will elicit the most exciting and magical atmosphere possible in all of San Diego. EUPHORIA will send you into the New Year with a night to remember. DANCE the night away in the Ivy Nightclub and Grand Ballroom… and maybe even share your first kiss of 2012 under the stars on the Rooftop…

[LIVE ENTERTAINMENT]:

Do You Like Bass? They’re On That Different Sh*t. Barely into their twenties, Classixx has begun defining a new sound for the electronic music scene. Their airy, flowy, funk-inspired grooves are unique, catchy, and f*cking golden. With recent remixes of tracks by groundbreaking artists such as Phoenix, Wolfgang Gartner, Shiny Toy Guns, and The Sounds – and collaborations with producers such as Villains, their echoey midtempo resonance immediately grabs your attention – and instantaneously makes your body flow to the frequencies of their lo-fi phenomenon.

Rapid firecracker eclectic explosion switch. Musical melting pot sensation Vokab Kompany truly defines the epitome of E.C.L.E.C.T.I.C. Straight out of San Diego and one of the strongest locally-supported groups in the area, Vokab is an electronic, soul-influenced hip-hop band composed of 7 pieces – keyboard/synthesizer, drums, bass, guitar, and violin – which accompany MC duo Rob Hurt and Burkey Baby. Bound on the idea live performers accompanying their music enhance the experience for their listeners, you’ll often find them incorporating stilt walkers, burlesque dancers, clowns, hoola- hoopers, guest musicians, and belly dancers into their shows.

Jump on the party wagon.

“A sound whose genre goes something like: hip-hop, soul, electro, funk. You have two MCs whose charged, sped-up lyrics flow with their made-to-sound effortless and seamless synergy. Their voices are playfully vivacious and positive. And their sound is layered with creative electro beats. ” – Sam Dorman, NBC San Diego

iClub: Mashed Episode 007 – Guestmix by DJ Dainjazone. Find this free Podcast on iTunes to get a taste of Party Rock label DJ Dainjazone – who will also be performing on NYE to give you some classic San Diego-style Party Rock infusion flare. Mash it. Mix it. Stir it. Shake it. Taste it. And DOWN IT.

Where the drinks are hotter than the chili sauce. And the DJs are hotter than the crowd. This pretty much explains POSSO The DJ: Vanessa Giovacchini and Marylouise Pels. Currently residing in Los Angeles, their unique palette for fashion and music has influenced a sound that is a sexy curation of Nu-Disco, House, Funk, Disco and Dance. Not to mention these two girls are pretty damn sexy themselves. POSSO has played alongside the likes of The Juan Maclean, Aeroplane, Treasure Fingers, Cut Copy, and Classixx. In addition to music, Vanessa and Marylouise have designed and marketed an avant-garde accessories line with a focus on functionality for a modern versatile look.

Lip GLOSS? Ha. Think again. Throughout the evening, guests will also be enchanted by the live showcases of the incredibly talented and versatile Lipstik Inc. dancers, performing on stage and in all four rooms of entertainment.

2011 has been an amazing year for Targa Trophy, which has resulted in our biggest season yet now under our belt. This year saw the introduction of our entry-level ³Experience² rally event series into the Southern California region. Three events produced between San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles saw record car counts and increased numbers of patrons and spectators exposed to the Targa Trophy lifestyle.

Now, as Targa Trophy moves into 2012 ready to embark on our biggest event season yet, we have decided to kick start the new year right by ending it with a HUGE bang: the Targa Trophy New Years Eve Experience Event SAN DIEGO! The Targa Trophy NYE Experience event is meant to give more people a taste of the Targa Trophy lifestyle during the biggest event day of the year.

SURGEON GENERAL’S WARNING: Going on TK Productions’ 2nd Annual San Diego Industry Vegas Takeover December 11th-13th may result in POPPING WAY TOO MANY BOTTLES; EXCESSIVE DEBAUCHERY AND HEDONISM; BEING OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY; AN EXTREME LACK OF SLEEP; EPIC DANCE PARTIES; OVERDRAFTING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT; DIFFICULTY RECALLING CERTAIN INFORMATION/EVENTS; BEING UNABLE TO TRANSITION BACK INTO REAL LIFE; and most importantly… SAN DIEGO KICKING VEGAS’ ASS. (The latter is guaranteed to happen no matter what – so don’t worry, you’ll be getting your penny’s worth.) And if you went last year, you ALREADY KNOW it was nothing less than f*cking phenomenal. I’m kind of worried for the group’s vital signs, honestly – we already have a bunch of I.D.I.O.T.S. on board so far who have committed themselves to going all out for their birthdays, including the following: Jeremy Reese of DJhere, Rodney Daylamy of Taste & Thirst, Gio Morelli of Analog, Brandon Thomason of TK, Manny Parra of R.A.P., Greg Cohen, DJ FishFonics, Brian Barr (Mr. Dee Jay), and DJ Sadler of Ivy… plus more than 100 non-birthday ragers. “Como se dice sh*tshow?”

Okay, so here’s the FB event to give you some more clarify/info… check it.
http://www.facebook.com/events/326444777370127/?ref=ts

We’ll be staying at the Palms. Or officially, “The Palms Casino Resort.” Ooo-la-la. TK’s got you hooked up when it comes to rates. Rooms are super discounted – $49 per night. So if you have 4 people to a room they are super-dee-DUPER cheap. UTILIZE.
To book your room, call: 866.942.7770.
Discount Code: N9DTOWN

Till the break of dawn.

We have scheduled and organized club events for everyone planned out so all us San Diego peeps stick together/party together and get in for free. Your cover is included with the room packages you buy. We got your cover, covered… yeah, that.

We have a charter bus option too – HOW convenient for those of us that don’t want to worry about driving, and just want to worry about partying! Which would be most of us – WHAT a coincidence! Which would explain why almost all of us are doing said “bus option” then. Not only does the bus make everything 3402394331210087 times easier, it’s also a great way to get your party vibe on and connect with the group on the way there. It really enhances the whole idea and feeling of SAN DIEGO “taking over” Vegas. It’s like we all become a team. TEAM SAN DIEGO, that is. As someone who drove to Vegas last year and felt like I really missed out on this part of the experience, I highly recommend the bus option. Seriously, DO IT.

If you’re the type that always tends to go a wee bit too hard in Sin City, and have suspicions of being hungover on the way back – and the thought of even being a PASSENGER in a long drive back seems torturous – never fear, TK knows where you’re coming from. There’s a two-way AND cheaper one-way option available… so if you need to fly back, go right ahead.
Bus packages: $60 Roundtrip | $40 One-Way
To Book Charter Bus:
http://www.ournightlife.com/event.cfm?showTimingID=962
Discount Code is “TK”, and it’ll give you a $10 discount.
The bus will leave from Firehouse, sometime in the am – exact time to be determined. We’ll keep everyone updated.

CONCLUSION/ABSTRACT: Going on this Industry Vegas Takeover trip is pretty much mandatory for anyone who A) works in the San Diego Nightlife Industry, B) is socially involved in the Industry Scene, or C) just really likes to party a lot.

NOW LET’S GET IT IN.
